Your rooftop solar installation checklist.

Before requesting quotations

Collect twelve months of consumption in kWh, your connection details and a simple description of daytime use. Identify roof ownership or permissions. Ask the site assessor to review shading, structure, drainage, access and equipment locations.

Compare a complete bill of materials

Record panel and inverter model numbers, DC module capacity and AC inverter rating separately. Ask for mounting specifications, electrical protections, cable scope, civil work, taxes, delivery, installation and metering support. Mark items as included, excluded or provisional.

Before the final payment

Agree acceptance criteria in writing. Keep invoices, serial numbers, manuals, warranties, the commissioning record and monitoring access. Ask for the service contact and maintenance responsibilities, including who resolves portal or subsidy documentation issues.

For a residential subsidy application, check the official-source directory and the current National Portal/DISCOM requirements before committing. A vendor discount and a government subsidy are different parts of your budget.
